UN Climate Change Conference Bonn SB62

June 16 - 26, 2025

Since its inaugural presence at COP28 in Dubai, E+C has grown into a transformative platform, uniting policymakers, artists, activists, and cultural leaders.  In 2025, E+C will build on this momentum with a decentralized presence at SB62 in Bonn, organizing a series of events throughout the two-week conference. These events will be part of the City of Bonn’s Summer of Change program, which aims to bridge the cultural and climate policy spheres.

Desired Outcomes

Expand Access

Provide a platform for those without direct access to SB62 or COP events, ensuring that more diverse voices are included in the global climate and culture discourse

Create Local Impact

Showcase local climate and cultural initiatives on a global stage while fostering international collaborations

Strategize for COP30

Equip cultural and heritage stakeholders with strategies to ensure meaningful climate action at COP30 in Belém.

Strengthen Bonn as a Climate Action Hub

Position Bonn as a year-round hub for climate dialogue and action, moving beyond COP as the primary space for negotiations and partnerships

Build Community

Connect cultural, creative, and entertainment leaders worldwide to share knowledge, build coalitions, and launch lasting climate action projects

Programming in Development

  • This panel was part of the GFCBCA’s ongoing efforts to advance the integration of culture into climate policy discussions, both during SB62 and in the lead-up to COP30. The event brought together voices from across academia, civil society, youth, and international organizations to highlight how cultural heritage can inform and inspire effective, context-driven climate action. E+C is a Knowledge Partner of the GFCBA, an initiative co-chaired by the Ministries of Culture of Brazil and the UAE.

  • We were thrilled to support Walking Forest at their three collaborative walks on the UNFCCC campus which explored forest ecology, climate, and creative activism through conversation.

Walking Forest aims to create space for stories by and about activists and explore how to overcome a time of global injustice and the climate and nature crisis.

  • Focusing on childhood, family, cultural heritage, and the moments that have shaped their lives, this session drew our personal stories into our climate action. Through guided reflection, we created a serene space where attendees tapped into the wisdom of their personal and collective memories. It was all about slowing down and remembering what’s truly important, especially amid the Bonn bustle!

    Location: Bonn Climate Camp

  • A full-day experience — featuring panels, immersive workshops, performances, and curated networking sessions that aim to position culture at the heart of climate action. It will bring together stakeholders from Bonn and around the world to share their knowledge, learn new strategies, and build coalitions for culture-based climate action that last beyond SB62.
