Creatives for Climate Action - Thailand
In partnership with Creative Migration, The Convergence, and Green Beyond Magazine, we’re co-designing a few days of programming at Bangkok 1899 to host the first E+C Pavilion in Southeast Asia from June 28-30.
The E+C Pavilion program will follow the Creatives for Climate Action - Thailand (CCAT) conference organized by the EU National Institute for Culture (EUNIC) Cluster in Bangkok, the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), and Creative Migration from June 26-27. There will also be a pre-event on June 25 at Soho House Bangkok, which will consist of a panel/talk and mixer.
We have several key desired outcomes and goals for hosting this event:
-
Engage with the UNFCCC’s Asia-Pacific Regional Collaboration Centre to strengthen our coalition of partners in the region and increase their participation in future E+C Pavilion events worldwide.
-
Mobilize institutional support in Thailand to secure their participation ahead of COP29 and invite them to join the Group of Friends for Culture-Based Climate Action.
PROGRAMMING
FRIDAY, JUNE 28
To launch the E+C Pavilion, we are hosting a breakfast reception, Catalyzing Culture-Based Climate Action in Thailand, for local ministerial authorities and regional sectoral stakeholders from the creative industries.
Afterward, we will conduct bilingual Climate Storytelling Workshops, followed by a dinner party welcoming cultural and climate changemakers accompanied by performances from local artists.
SATURDAY, JUNE 29
In the morning, Green & Beyond Magazine will present a panel about Imperfect Environmentalism in South & Southeast Asia.
Concurrently, we will host interactive Landscape Mapping for Entertainment for Culture and Climate Action (ECCA) and The Art Charter for Climate Action (ACCA).
To conclude, we’re planning a special Eco-Pride Party with local Drag talent, entertainers and sustainable vendors.
